PRIZE FOR REPORT OF TECHNICAL MEETING
The Geotechnical Division awards prizes to all classes of young HKIE members who
prepare reports of a high standard on technical meetings organized by the Geotechnical
Division. Rules of the Technical Meeting Report Prize are as follows:
- The prizes are open to all classes of HKIE members who are aged 35 or under at the
time of the technical meeting.
- Authors are required to submit a report on a technical meeting presentation.
- The report should be typed, no longer than two A4 pages and in a form suitable for
direct publication in the HKIE Journal. The report may include graphical or pictorial
illustrations.
- Four copies of the report should be submitted to
Ir Dr K C Wong, Division’s Prize Coordinator for Prize and Award, c/o
Geotechnical Engineering Section, 9/F, Block 3, HKHA Headquarters Building, 33 Fat
Kwong Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong (Tel No. : 2129 3105; Fax No. : 2768 7465).
- Deadlines for submission are three weeks from the date of the technical meeting.
- Reports will be judged and a maximum of two Prizes will be awarded to the two best submissions for each technical meeting. The Committee reserves the right not to award a prize if there are insufficient entries of an acceptable standard.
- Winning reports may be submitted to the HKIE for publication in Hong Kong Engineer.
- Prizes will be in the form of a certificate of appreciation, free attendance at the HKIE Geotechnical Division
Annual Seminar and a cash award of HK$ 300.
- Entries may qualify for up to 1 CPD day.
- The Geotechnical Division reserves the right to publish the winning report of the
Technical Meeting in the division's web site.
